The Meadville Marching Eagles took 4th place (out
of 11 bands) in the street marching competition – 1A division at the 43rd
Annual Carrollton Band Day on Saturday, September 22nd. The daylong event, which is co-sponsored by
the Carrollton Music Department, Carrollton Kiwanis and Carrollton Lions Club,
features
competitions in street marching, field show, drumline, and
colorguard. Over 60 schools were
represented in this year’s festival, including Meadville.
The Marching Eagles scored 62.5/100 points
overall in the 1A division. They placed
3rd in Music, 4th on the turn, and tied for 3rd
on marching and general effect. The
30-member band will continue its marching season on October 12th at
the Marceline Homecoming Parade. The
Marching Eagles are led by Senior drum major Kasie Boyd and under the direction
of Mr. Dustijn Hollon
