2012 Marching Season in Review


The Meadville Marching Eagles closed out their 2012 marching season with their final parade of the season in Chillicothe on Saturday, November 17th.  This year’s marching season proved to be very successful for the Marching Eagles, which was highlighted by numerous first place finishes. 
The season started early for the Marching Eagles as they traveled to Wheeling for their Labor Day Homecoming Parade.  The following weekend, they took 2nd place at the Pershing Day Parade in Laclede.  Later that month, they took 4th place in the 1A division (out of 12 bands) at the Carrollton Band Day Parade and 1st place at the Milan Homecoming Parade.  In October, they received 1st place at the Marceline Homecoming Parade and “honor band” distinction at the Truman State Homecoming Parade.  They also marched in their hometown Pumpkin Festival Parade in Meadville.   In November, they appeared in the Chillicothe Holiday Parade, where they received high marks and placed 4th.  Members of the 2012 Marching Eagles band include: (flutes) Kasie Boyd, Zanna Collins, Caley Dover and Bailey Warren; (clarinet) Karlin Fairchild, Audrey Martin; (saxophone) Emily Meneely, Shelby Holcer, Raelee Kemp and Madison Ryan; (trumpet) David Olson, Hannah Boyd, Daniel Murphy, Kellie Hamilton, and Jeffrey Woodward; (percussion) Jessica Gibson, Jase Cowan, Will Stone, Chayton Stockwell, Ryan Young, Wayne Triplett, Quiton Garland, Johnathan Shifflet, Brennen High, Tamara Evans, Tarran Baker, and Sidnie Bruner.  (banner carriers) Austin Herring and Robert Hornsby.  The band is led by Senior Drum Major Kasie Boyd and is under the direction of Mr. Dustijn Hollon, who is also the director of bands at Meadville R-IV Schools.
